Our Philosophy
A Diagnosis is Not Your Destiny
In 2004, I took over the practice of Dr. Walter A. Ward – then known as Carolina Contemporary Medicine, PA which he founded in 1984. Piedmont Integrative Medicine, PA has become a place where healing could finally occur—a place where we align root-cause resolution with balance.
My core philosophy is simple: A diagnosis should not be your destiny.
You are not your "thyroid condition." You are not your "hormone imbalance." These are just labels for a system out of balance. My mission is to give you the framework to restore that balance.
I've seen this work for over 25 years. It's why I get up every morning. It's the entire foundation of our signature program, the ‘7 Keys Method™ ,’ and the principles I teach in my book, What Healing Means To Me.
The Evolution of Healing: The 7 Keys Method™
When I wrote What Healing Means To Me, we established the original foundational principles of our root-cause approach to medicine. But the science of human cellular communication continues to evolve—and so do we.
Culminating from 42 years of clinical stewardship, Piedmont Integrative Medicine, PA has evolved its core framework into The 7 Keys Method™—a comprehensive approach designed to support metabolic restoration and whole-person resilience.
Rather than chasing isolated symptoms, we use The 7 Keys Method™ to support and restore the interconnected systems within your BioLogical FootPrint™:
• Detoxification — Supporting cellular clearance pathways
•Nutrition — Providing foundational metabolic fuel
• Exercise / Movement — Activating restorative metabolic signaling
• Mind-Body — Supporting autonomic calm and resilience
• Immune System — Supporting defensive intelligence
• Hormones & Adrenal Function — Balancing key regulatory signals
• Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) — Supporting adaptive stress regulation
Welcome to a more integrated standard of care. Welcome to The Biologic Restoration Center™.
